DARRYL FLAHERTY
Darryl Flaherty (Company Director) spent ten years as a sales executive with one of Australia’s largest building company’s before committing the family Trust Company (Zabe Nominees Pty. Ltd.) to being involved with the residential development of Joondalup City North.
COMPANY SUCCESS
In 1997 Syndicated Development Pty. Ltd. was formed to design and construct a series of Townhouses (37 in total) on behalf of a number of Trust Companies. These Investment Trusts were so successful that they averaged a return on capital in excess of 35% pa. each and every year.
LESLEY FLAHERTY
By 1998 the management of the rental properties was so demanding that Brooke Stone Real Estate was formed under the direction of Lesley Flaherty as Licensee/Director. The company expanded from managing their own student rentals on a short term basis into managing a variety of properties for private owners and leasing to professionals and business people.
Lesley Flaherty recognised the need for short term Holiday Accommodation to cater for the hundreds of UK residents who make the journey out to Western Australia each summer to visit the children, grand children, family, friends and associates. Brooke Stone is today the largest supplier of student and holiday accommodation in the Northern corridor.
As the company has grown, Lesley has moved the company progressively forward to manage a number of unfurnished properties as tenancies as well as fully furnished properties rented by the room to lodgers.
Through this broad range of services, Brooke Stone can offer the best advice and knowledge in how to maximise rental potential in investment properties.
LAURA FLAHERTY
Laura Flaherty (daughter) resigned her position at the Bank in 2005 to become Operations Manager of Brooke Stone Real Estate (12 on the permanent staff plus contractors) and Laura, who holds a Real Estate License, is expected one day to manage the company.
NEW OFFICES
In 2007 Zabe Nominees purchased a three storey office building (their present location) to house Brooke Stone Real Estate, and these new offices allow room for further expansion.
LEGISLATION CHANGES CREATES SALES DIVISION
Previous to the Amendment of the Government Legislation pertaining to the Privacy Act, Brooke Stone assisted other real estate agents with advice in the specialist area associated with student short term rental and tourist accommodation.
The new Legislation resulted in The Real Estate Advisory Board advising real estate agents that, along with the owner of the property, the agent will also be held liable for any information provided by them regardless of whether that information was misunderstood, misinterpreted or misrepresented by a third party.
As such, Brooke Stone has expanded into the sales market.
BUYERS REPRESENTATION
Now Brooke Stone acts in many capacities, such as a Buyers Agent to handle every thing from representing the buyer to locate the best property to buy – to Managing Agent to ensure the property obtains a premium rental return in furnished and unfurnished properties – to Selling Agent to sell the property for the best obtainable price.
